Success Stories from the Stand Down

Mo struggled in and out of homelessness. He had outstanding court fees that were keeping him from getting his driver’s license and securing employment. After coming to the Stand Down and attending Pasco Veterans Court he was able to have his fees eliminated and was able to get his license back. Today he is living in his own home and has a job that provides for his needs.

The aim of this special court is to help veterans deal with their current criminal charges and stop them from getting into further trouble. It also is designed to help with substance abuse or mental health issues that may have caused or contributed to their legal problems.

Only veterans charged with misdemeanors and certain felonies, such as drug-related charges, burglary, grand theft, and battery, may qualify.

Pasco Veterans Court is provided by Judge Shawn Crane and Paula S. O’Neil, Clerk of Curcuit Court.
